Cardno back as Southland District Mayor
Saturday, 9 October 2010Frana Cardno is back for her seventh term as Southland District Mayor. Mrs Cardno received 6,783 votes, with her challenger Rod Young receiving 1,643. This is based on 98% of the returned voting papers being counted. Special votes and voting papers returned today are not included.
Council will have a new councillor, however, with Stuart Baird receiving 522 votes in the Wallace ward. Incumbent Brian Drummond received 308 votes.
