Open day for Te Anau Library

SDC will host an open day at Te Anau Library on Sunday, 16 August, to share plans for the space with the community.

It’s a great opportunity to further clarify the initiative to incorporate a customer service element in the library site and we look forward to showing everyone the concept.

Across New Zealand libraries provide a range of services, programming and access to information and resources which co-exist effectively to enhance the user experience.

While originally scheduled for July 26, the additional time in the lead up to the open day will enable our library designer to develop the project further. It will then be reviewed by both the Fiordland Community Board and Friends of the Library.

All of our library staff have a customer support component in their roles so they can assist our community with both library and customer support enquiries. The practical elements to this solution include better management of library programming, training for staff and a consistent service for the community as a whole. The decision reflects economic and practical benefits for all of the community.

There are various ways for residents to connect with SDC without leaving the comfort of your own home such as online using the “Report it” button on our website www.southlanddc.govt.nz (external link) or via our 0800 732 732 number 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

We look forward to you to joining us at the open day on Sunday 16 August from 11 -2pm to see the plans for the library space.
