Amendments to a compliance schedule
The Council and a building owner can agree to amend a compliance schedule if required at any time.
An amendment to the compliance schedule may be initiated:
- by the owner – for any reason
- by the owner’s independent qualified person (IQP) – to ensure the specified systems will perform to the performance standards for those systems
- by Council – to ensure the specified systems will perform to the performance standards for those systems.
Form 11 of the Forms for building maintenance management (external link) , must be completed and submitted to Council for an amendment. This form must be accompanied by the Specified system information sheets for each of the specified systems being altered.
Sometimes a compliance schedule may also need amended as a result of building work that will affect a specified system. However, this will be managed through the building consent process and a Form 11 is not required.
Alterations and amendments to existing compliance schedule (linked to building consent) are charged per hour. Information about fees is available on our Fees and charges page.
Does any change to specified systems need an amendment to compliance schedule? Yes, an amendment to compliance schedule could be required, in some instances a building consent could also be required – especially for the removal of any specified system. You would probably be best to contact Council to discuss any changes you would be wanting to make.
