From the date of the building consent being issued, the owner has two years to complete the build before Council is required to decide to either issue a Code Compliance Certificate (CCC) or refuse a CCC.

This does not mean that you can’t finish the build after this date and make an application for CCC, just that there has to be a CCC decision made under the Building Act 2004. We will send you a reminder that your two-year anniversary is coming up to check in on your progress.
