Local State of Transition to Recovery declared for Bluecliffs erosion

Southland District Council Mayor Rob Scott has moved the response to the erosion at Bluecliffs to the next step, signing a Transition to Recovery declaration.

From the date of the building consent being issued, the owner has two years to complete the build before Council is required to decide to either issue a Code Compliance Certificate (CCC) or refuse a CCC.

This does not mean that you can’t finish the build after this date and make an application for CCC, just that there has to be a CCC decision made under the Building Act 2004. We will send you a reminder that your two-year anniversary is coming up to check in on your progress.
