Overdue, damaged and lost items
Southland District Libraries are fine-free. However, we do encourage you to return your items on time, or renew them. If an item is overdue for six weeks, it becomes ‘Lost’, and you will be charged the replacement cost. If you damage or lose an item, please let us know. You will be charged the replacement cost of the damaged or lost item.
Books not held by any Southland District Library can usually be obtained from another New Zealand library at a cost of $10.
